Samajwadi Party alleges conspiracy by the Congress

A conspiracy to dismiss UP government has been hatched by Congress to put its own man in Rashtrapati Bhavan , Samajwadi Party alleged on Monday.

SP leader Amar Singh accompanied by Mr Natwar Singh and Ms Jaya Bachchann addressing a Press conference said with President’s rule in UP, 80 MPs and 403 MLAs from UP who form an important chunk of the Electoral College will not be able to participate in the forthcoming Presidential elections.

He informed that SP has got an  appointment with  President APJ Abdul Kalam tomorrow.

He reminded DMK that Congress had blamed DMK for links with LTTE and “we sacrificed the then UF government  for the sake of  DMK.”

He said SP will support incase Speaker Somnath Chatterjee is the Presidential candidate.

The SP,he said would continue to support UPA government because “we are wedded to secularism.”            

"Mr Natwar Singh said that he is a "suspended" Congress man and will campaign against the Congress in the UP elections. “I have been daring Congress to expel me for three months,” he added.

Ms Jaya Bachchan hoped President well known and well  respected person  “will not be misguided or pushed into a decision which he will have to regret later” .She referred to decision on Bihar and her own disqualification from Rajya Sabha which had "boomeranged".

"I hope he  uses his scientific mind scientifically,” she added.
