Samresh, Shweta shine in national shooting

THE SILVER Jubilee National Shooting Championship organised by BSF, Indore began at Reoti Range on Thursday. Samresh Jang, Shweta Choudhry and Saroj Kumari put up a good show on the inaugural day.

THE SILVER Jubilee National Shooting Championship organised by BSF, Indore began at Reoti Range on Thursday. Samresh Jang, Shweta Choudhry and Saroj Kumari put up a good show on the inaugural day.

In the 25m standard pistol category, Shweta Choudhry and in 50m free pistol category, Samresh Jang did well. In 10m air pistol competitions too, the shooters showed their class. The results of free pistol and standard pistol competition (women) will be announced on Friday while the results of air pistol will be announced on December 16.

Central Railways and Shahjahanpur in semis
SHAHJAHANPUR AND Central Railways Jabalpur on Thursday sailed into the last four in the Mansukhlal Mishra memorial all-India invitation hockey tournament being played at Christian College grounds.

In the first quarterfinal, Shahjahanpur players showed their class in their movements and perfect passing which troubled their opponents Nagar Nigam Bhopal.

In a one-sided match, Shahjahanpur (UP) trounced Nagar Nigam Bhopal by 5-2 to sail into the last four. In the second quarterfinal, Central Railways Jabalpur had to struggle hard before defeating their opponents BHEL, Bhopal by 2-1.
