india Updated: Aug 20, 2011 12:54 IST

Senior BJP leaders and RSS top brass deliberated on various national issues, against the backdrop of Anna Hazare's anti-corruption campaign, at a three-day brain-storming session here.

It was out of bounds for the media but sources said that several leaders who took part in the meeting opined that RSS should back Hazare's agitation fully and bring all like-minded groups on a single platform to take the fight against corruption to its logical conclusion.

The meeting of leaders of RSS and allied outfits was inaugurated by RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat on August 17 at Chardham Temple here.

Top BJP leaders including the party President Nitin Gadkari, LK Advani, Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu, general secretaries Arun Jaitley and Anant Kumar attended the meeting, BJP sources said.

Participants said that BJP should pursue Hindutva and Ram Temple issue with more vigour. Overall political situation was discussed, in view of the forthcoming elections in various states, sources added.

The progress of the Sangh's objective of bringing more people from the intellectual/professional classes - especially doctors, chartered accountants, etc - closer to the organisation was reviewed.

The work of RSS's organisation general secretaries deputed to various states for overseeing BJP's affairs and for coordinating between its various allied organisations too was discussed during the 3-day meeting, sources said.
