Sharan said that till now, largely animation projects in the country have been run like the BPO industry focusing on outsourcing. He said that Saregama might look at developing animation content in the form of webisodes, movies and feature films.

Sharan manages the films venture of Saregama, which made a reentry into film production earlier this year. The shooting of the film Chain kuli ki main kuli, that Saregama was working on is over and the movie will be released either in late April or early May.

The movie was made with an all-inclusive budget of around Rs 3.3 crore. The shooting for the other movie from Saregama's stable 'Japanese Wife' which stars Rahul Bose has started as well.
