SATHISH MALHOTRA ‘A’ grade knockout cricket tournament organised by the Maharaja Yeshwant Rao Cricket Club (MYCC) will begin November 22.
All the ‘A’ grade-registered teams will take part in the tournament. Secretary of the club Ramesh Bhatia said that lots would be drawn at Indore Divisional Cricket Association office on November 20.
Double crown for Indore Nodal
INDORE NODAL won double crown in the inter-collegiate state-level kho-kho tournament organised by the Oriental Institute of Science and Technology.
Both men and women’s teams of Indore Nodal bagged both the crowns. In the men’s final, Indore defeated Baba Institute by 21-2 to bag the title. In women’s final, Indore defeated OIST, Bhopal by 21-2 to win the title.
Jabalpur region retains badminton title
JABALPUR REGION won the inter-region badminton tournament played at the Nehru Stadium on Thursday. In a one-sided final, Jabalpur Region thrashed Jabalpur HO by 3-0 to retain the trophy for the second successive year.
In the first match, Subramaniam beat Abraham Vergheese by 21-11 and 21-11 to give his team 1-0 lead. In the second match, Sanjay Pande beat S M Rao by 21-12, 15-21 and 21-17 to give his team a comfortable 2-0 lead.
In the third match, Subramaniam/Sanjay Pande played with good understanding to defeat Vivek Agarwal/Abraham Vergheese by 20-22, 21-12 and 21-15. The individual semifinals and finals will be played on Friday.
DAVV judo team announced
DEVENDRA WAGELA will lead the DAVV judo team that will take part in the All-India University Judo Championship to be held in Nanded. The other members of the team are Manish Chouhan, Kapil Raiyakwar, Jaipuri Goswami and Someshwar Yadav. Women’s team: Roshani Devi, Danish Ahmad and Sadhana Patel.
