Noida district hospital head Ashok Mishra, named in the National Rural Health Mission scam, and his wife, a consultant at the same institute, are untraceable for a month.
Their mobiles are switched off.
An official of the Noida authority said on Wednesday: “We’re writing to the UP health secretary to take action in the matter.”
“The couple has not taken even a day’s leave.”
Noida authority CEO Sanjeev Saran said: “Mishra first let his wife, Meena, escape. He then stopped reporting.”
An official said: “We understand Ashok has been named in an FIR in connection with the NRHM scam. He might be trying to evade arrest.”
The CBI thinks the scam runs into Rs 10,000 crore. Deputy chief medical officer YS Sachan, an accused, died in mysterious circumstances in jail last year.
