Actor-turned-Congress leader Raj Babbar on Sunday said multi-crore scams during the UPA II regime was one of the major reasons for Congress' drubbing in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha polls.
"Multi-crore scams during the Congress regime brought damage for the party," Babbar, who lost to BJP leader VK Singh from Ghaziabad seat in the Lok Sabha polls told reporters in Amritsar.
Besides, the Congress failed to take its public interest projects to grassroots level, he said.
"All these things are to be discussed so that in future concrete work can be done to strengthen the party," he said.
On the drug menace in Punjab, he said the drug addiction in the state is a matter of deep concern and the ruling SAD-BJP alliance government should do the needful in this regard to save the younger generation.
