The Haryana education department on Friday transferred a state award winner headmaster of Government Senior Secondary School in Jhajjar's Sehalanga village for his alleged brusque behaviour with girl students.
He is yet to get his new posting order.
The matter came to light on Thursday when a 16-year-old girl of Class 11 told her parents that headmaster Jaldhir Kalkal dragged her in front of her classmates by holding her hand. “Since three lecturers were on leave that day (Thursday), Kalkal was teaching tenses to the students of Class 11. When a girl failed to answer his questions, he got angry, held her hand and dragged her to blackboard,” Jhajjar district education officer (DEO) Sadhu Ram Rohilla said.
Other girls of the class have alleged in a memorandum to the block education officer Virender Sangwan, who along with other department officials visited the school after learning about the matter, that they had been victims of headmaster's “bad behaviour”.
The victim's parents and scores of villagers stormed into the school on Thursday and demanded headmaster's transfer.
Earlier this year, the state government awarded Kalkal for producing extraordinary academics results for the 2012-13 session.
