Schoolbus collides with pole in Varanasi, one dead

A class VI student is killed when a schoolbus collides with an electricity pole on Varanasi-Jaunpur highway in Varanasi, reports Bharat Kumar.

A class VI student was killed when a schoolbus collided with an electricity pole on Varanasi-Jaunpur highway, under Baragaon police station, in Varanasi on Saturday. The student was identified as Vishal (12). Over a dozen students and teachers were also injured in the accident.

The bus, which had left the DAV Public School campus near Babatpur around 1.40 pm, met with the accident as it passed Suhwalpur village.

Villagers and policemen rushed the injured to Pragya Hospital nearby from where Vishal was referred to Sir Sunder Lal Hospital at Banaras Hindu University with critical injuries. Doctors at the Sir Sunderlal Hospital declared him dead on arrival.
