THE MADHYA Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) will organize competitions at block, district and division level to spot talented players and promote them to be part of national events. MPCA president and Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia told this to reporters on Saturday on the sidelines of prize distribution function of inter-ward cricket competition organised as part of inter-district competition at Capt Roop Singh Stadium.
He said the inter-district competition final match would be played on January 14. Committees comprising members from Gwalior Divisional Cricket Association and respective districts will submit report with recommendation about young talent to Scindia. He expressed satisfaction at rural participation and added the number would increase from the next year.
The MPCA will spend Rs 50 lakh each on infrastructure development of six divisions excluding Indore and Gwalior because these centres already have stadium facility. He said the BCCI would provide money to MPCA for infrastructure development.
He said that though the Capt Roop Singh Stadium was on lease till 2026, the process of site selection for alternative space was already on.
The GDCA will get an opportunity to organise the very next international match here on basis of rotation. Acting president Prashant Mehta, secretary P K Kadam, Balendu Shukla, Ramesh Agrawal, MLA Ghanshyam Singh and others were present on the occasion.
Scindia complemented the Gwalior district committee members Ramesh Agrawal, Sudarshan Jhabar and Datia committee led by Ghanshyam Singh for timely execution of tasks.
