“IN THE 20th century, three people made a great impact on the society. These were Einstein, Karl Marx and Dr Samuel Hahnemann. Dr Hahnemann developed a treatment system dedicated to humanity,” said Justice SN Srivastava at the 251st birth anniversary of Founder of Homoeopathy Dr SCF Hahnemann organised by Allahabad unit of Indian Homoeopathy Organisation (IHO) on Sunday.

Srivastava said Dr Hahnemann developed homoeopathy for the benefit of the masses. The students and teachers of homoeopathy had continuously struggled for its development and to give it its proper place in society, he said.

Guest of honour AC Sharma IG (Zone) said still there was a lot of scope for research and development in homoeopathy. Homoeopaths should come out with some time-saving and effective treatment techniques instead of trial and error. The homoeopaths should not depend on the government for providing research infrastructure. Instead, homoeopathy organisations should set up institutes for promoting research on new diseases and their treatment.

“There is also need to develop a system to monitor the quality of homoeopathic medicines,” he added.

Prof Chandra Bhushan Srivastava spoke on the life and work of Dr Hahnemann. Dr SM Ali said just like gravity existed before Newton, homoeopathy existed before Dr Hahnemann. But Dr Hahnemann discovered the first principle of homoeopathy, he said. Dr SN Singh said the Lancet report which claimed that homoeopathy medicines had only placebo effect was published with malicious intentions. It was a conspiracy of multi-national companies.

Medical officer RK Malviya informed about the development of homoeopathy in UP since independence. There was  need to create more posts and cadre restructuring in homoeopathy, he said.

Special guest of honour was Dr Sharad Srivastava. Dr RK Kapoor presided over the programme. Secretary Dr Arpan Dhar Dubey presented the IHO report. District president IHO Dr KK Shukla gave the welcome address. KN Pandey conducted the programme.
