Scribe, four others killed in separate accidents

Five persons, including a journalist, have been killed in separate incidents in the city.

Police today said Satyapreet Singh aka Tony, a reporter with a TV channel, was killed yesterday when he skidded off the road while giving a chase to a vehicle that first rammed into his two-wheeler and sped off.

A young engineer Rajiv Sharma was killed in a road accident after being knocked down by a school bus at Rambag Colony.

While a businessman Deepak Chauhan was killed after his car fell into a Ganga canal at Charan Singh Kavad, one Pal Jathawa lost his life when a tractor knocked him down.

In another incident involving a train, one Maheshpal was mowed down by a speeding train while crossing the track near a forest area yesterday.
