Many Apple users were left fuming after the latest software update by the firm — iOS 7 — showed errors and failed to download seamlessly throughout Wednesday.
Eagerly awaiting the arrival of the iOS 7, which brings a totally new look and feel to Apple devices, the users complained that the download failed to start at first and then took several hours to complete even in the presence of high-speed WiFi signals.
Not only did the process take hours to complete, some users were unable to download the new OS at all for the first few hours.
People took to Twitter to express their anguish about the download delays.
Some of the tweets read:
Um... 7hrs remaining? I hope that's a joke...
what happened!? I had the update earlier and now it's gone!
#ios7 I've been waiting for this update to finish for about 2 hours now
# ios7 won't install
There were some who also mocked the download speed:
: 5 minutes remaining
1 hour remaining
5 hours remaining
14 hours remaining
2 months remaining
3 years remaining
Another user’s post read “43 minutes remaining to download iOS 7.0 but now 10 minutes later there is an error, and I have to upload it again with another 2 hour wait?”
Though Apple did not comment on the issue, tech blog experts said the errors were a result of the worldwide rollout of new software, burdening the servers of the US-based firm.
