Security arrangements at Jammu airport reviewed

In order to ensure adequate security arrangements at the Jammu airport and to know about grievances of the staff deployed there, the additional director general of police (ADGP) (security) VK Singh held a durbar at the airport the other day.

The durbar was attended by the jawans and officers deployed at the airport.

Singh briefed the jawans and officers to work professionally and without compromising the norms laid down by bureau of civil aviation security (BCAS). He further directed all the staff on frisking duty to remain vigilant while performing their duties and not to compromise in any situation with security related issues keeping in view the present security scenario.

On the occasion, Singh heard the grievances of the staff and issued instructions for their redressal.

Earlier, Ashok Kumar Sharma briefed the ADGP about the security arrangements and deployment of personnel at the airport.

The ADGP also reviewed the security arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra and visited the yatra base camp at Bhagwati Nagar, where he talked to the officials of the security agencies.

During the visit, Singh also interacted with the pilgrims and enquired about their difficulties.
