The other target of the arrested terror suspects, Thakkar Shopping Mall, is a ground plus two-storey mall, located opposite the Borivli railway station and just a few metres away from the Borivli police station.
Following the arrest made by the ATS, a commando van with around 15-20 policemen has been deployed outside the mall.
The policemen are keeping a close watch on any suspicious movements in and around the vicinity of the shopping complex even as the security guards deployed outside the entrance are not allowing any shoppers to enter the mall without being frisked.
The mall authorities claim that the security of the mall is in place. “We have sufficient CCTVs, and metal detectors installed on the premises. Following the alert, we have sensitised out staff and the shopkeepers who have been transacting business from the mall,” said a staff of the mall, requesting anonymity.
The seven-year-old mall houses 45 shops selling accessories, jewellery, readymade garments, software, cell phones. Even after the alert, business inside the mall was as usual.
