Security beefed up in Jammu for Shivratri

Jammu and Kashmir Inspector General of Police on Sunday convened a meeting of senior officers in Jammu to review the security arrangements in the district on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri, to be celebrated tomorrow.
IGP K Rajendra Kumar asked the police officers to take necessary steps to avert any untoward incidence on Shivratri and asked them to become extra vigilant for keeping a tab on the presence and movement of suspicious elements in and around the city temples tomorrow.
While reviewing the arrangements, he also discussed about coordination and foolproof mechanism to ensure smooth conduct of the first session of the new Assembly.
A team of police officers comprising SSP security, SSP Jammu and SSP traffic had been tasked with the responsibility to establish security measures in and around the civil secretariat.
