DRM (NER) Amitabh Lal on Sunday said that relatives and friends of passengers should stay away from platforms, as it would reduce inconvenience caused due to checking passengers. Otherwise, he added, that security guards would have to even check them, which is a very time-consuming process.

The DRM further appealed to passengers to arrive at the platform well before time schedule, as they have to undergo checking. DRM (NR) R K Gupta also appealed to passengers to arrive well in time to avoid any inconvenience.
On Sunday, Gupta supervised security arrangements, and ordered strict action against trespassers. He pointed at the unwanted heap and dump on the Charbagh premises.

The Additional Director General (GRP) B K Bhalla has initiated a number of steps to prevent any untoward incident. He said additional forces have been pressed into service. Metal detectors and dog squads have been also been pressed into service.
