A private security guard at the Motera cricket stadium sustained a minor injury when he was hit by a cricket ball coming from Sachin Tendulkar's bat during a practice match.
Tendulkar hit a lofted shot and the ball went outside the ground hitting the guard on his hand on Thursday, Gujarat Cricket Association President Narhari Amin told.
"The ball did hit the guard on the arm and there was a swelling," Amin said.
The GCA President also said Tendulkar later apologised to the guard and paid him money for his medical treatment.
"However, Tendulkar approached him and apologised for the accident. He also paid him Rs 1,000 for treatment of his hand," he said.
