After receiving strong reactions from its alliance partner BJP for supporting UPA candidate Pratibha Patil in the Presidential polls, the Shiv Sena on Tuesday said it still wanted to foster ties with the saffron party and did not see any reason to end its 22-year long alliance with it over the issue.

"We still consider BJP a friend and I see no reason why the alliance should break due to this," Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray told reporters in Mumbai.
