City unit of Shiv Sena on Sunday staged a road-blockade demanding cancellation of sudden transfer of Commissioner of Police, Vishnudev Mishra.
Mishra was transferred for his drive against criminals, including some political leaders to check growing crime in city, the party said.
The women wing of Sena also took symbolic funeral procession of Maharashtra Government protesting commissioner’s transfer.
The agitation, however, passed off peacefully, police said. Members of Nashik Industrialists Manufacturing Association also blocked Mumbai-Agra National Highway for half an hour demanding that Mishra’s transfer be scrapped.
