A senior citizen was robbed at her residence in north west Mumbai by three persons at gunpoint, police said on Sunday.

Jyoti Bijla, a 67-year-old resident of Malad, was robbed at gunpoint after three persons entered her apartment at approximately 2100 hours on Saturday, they said.

The three persons had come to her residence pretending that they were bringing medicines for her sick relative who was in the house, police said.

After Bijla let them in, the trio took out choppers and a revolver and threatened her and her 16-year-old maidservant.

They then tied all the occupants of the house with towels and left with cash and valuables worth approximately Rs nine lakh, police said adding that further investigations were on.
