Sensex up by 74 points in early trade

The benchmark Sensex on Friday continued with its upward march on the Bombay Stock Exchange in early trade, gaining over 74 points on sustained buying by foreign as well as domestic funds.
The 30-share index, Sensex, which had gained 79 points on Thursday, further rose by 73.93 points at 13770.24 within the first five minutes of trading.
Similarly, on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the S&P CNX Nifty was also quoted at 3,975.15 as against the previous close of 3,954.50, up by 20.65 points.
Besides Hong Kong, most of the Asian markets displayed a firm trend early on Friday morning.
Among index-based counters, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, BHEL, Grasim, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Infosys Tech, ICICI Bank, L&T, Maruti, NTPC, REL, RIL and Tata Steel were quoted higher.
