The sports working committee of the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) suffered a jolt on Friday after a Delhi court restrained the panel from carrying out its duties till the next hearing on July 4.

In a petition filed by Ramesh Kumar, on behalf of Pramod Kumar Jain — secretary of the Sarojini Nagar Gymkhana, on May 2, it was alleged that even after the committee's tenure expired on August 20, 2010, no steps were taken for fresh elections. DDCA has agreed to conduct elections after Delhi's final Indian Premier League match on May 21. The court also empowered the DDCA executive committee to take over the functioning of the sports working committee.
