Seven hurt, cash looted in Kanpur robberies

Seven people were hurt and cash and property worth thousands were looted in two separate robberies in Kanpur.

Seven persons were injured and cash and property worth thousands of rupees were looted in two separate robberies in Cantonment and Bidhnu police circle limit, police said in Kanpur on Thursday.

Six robbers allegedly looted the house of Chhoke Ram Nishad, a former member of the Cantonment Board, in Chhaperapurwa area late on Wednesday night and took away cash and valuables. Three members of the family were injured when they tried to resist the robbers, police said.

In another such incident, a group of men allegedly entered an oil mill of Sanjay Kumar Sahu in Bingawa area of Bidhnu police circle and fled with cash and valuables worth several thousands rupees. Four workers of the factory were injuried when they resisted the dacoits, police said.

No arrest has been made so far in the cases, they said.
