At least seven people were crushed to death at the Parbati hydel power project in Himachal Pradesh when a pipe in the shaft they were working in collapsed.
At least seven people were crushed to death at the Parbati hydel power project in Himachal Pradesh when a pipe in the shaft they were working in collapsed, police said on Saturday.
The labourers were carrying out underground repair work when the accident took place late Friday at Sainj, about 200 km from Shimla.

According to the police, the support pipe of the 1,600 metre long main shaft gave way, crushing the workers who belonged to Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.
They were employees of PS Construction company, a partner of Gamon India Ltd. that has built the power plant.
