Seven suspected militants were arrested in Doda and Srinagar districts of Jammu and Kashmir and five kg RDX, a hand grenade and a rifle recovered from them, police said on Sunday.
On a tip-off, police raided a hideout in Ghar Sungle village in Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda district yesterday and arrested three militants. A 12-bore rifle, two letter pads of Lashker-e-Toiba, 17 electrical detonators, a wireless set and a cigarette packet containing explosive sticks were recovered from them.
In another operation, police arrested four suspected militants at Zewan area on the outskirts of the Srinagar city last night.
A hand grenade was recovered from the possession of the arrested persons, they said.
Meanwhile, an exchange of fire took place between security forces and militants in Kremhoora forest in Zachaldara, 125 kms from Srinagar, early on Sunday.
The militants opened fire on a joint search party of police and security forces, they said.
However, the militants managed to flee and a hunt was on to nab them.
None was hurt in the incident, the officials said.
