The Jammu and Kashmir High Court, monitoring the probe into the sex racket in the state, on Friday authorised the CBI to seek the shifting of highly placed persons in politics and administration who the agency felt could impede the investigations.
A division bench comprising Justices Hakeem Imtiyaz and BA Kirmani said the CBI could seek the shifting of persons in politics, administration and police from their positions so that they are not able to hamper the process of investigation or tamper with the evidence.
It also said if required the court would examine the "advisability of assessing the level of accusations and requisite action in each case and pass appropriate orders".
