Shahabuddin held guilty in kidnapping case

Mohammed Shahabuddin, RJD Lok Sabha member from Siwan, is held guilty in the case of kidnapping of CPI-ML worker Chhote Lal Gupta by a local court.

Mohammed Shahabuddin, RJD Lok Sabha member from Siwan, was on Saturday held guilty in the case of kidnapping of CPI-ML worker Chhote Lal Gupta by a local court.

Additional District and Sessions judge Gyaneshwar Prasad Srivastava pronounced Shahabuddin guilty under section 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

The quantum of sentence will be announced on May 8.

The case relates to the kidnapping of Gupta by Shahabuddin and his men on February 7, 1999.
