Shaheed Rathod cremated with state honour

The mortal remains of CRPF jawan Govind Singh Rathod, who died fighting Naxalists in Chhatisgarh, were consigned to flames in his home town Mudkhed.

The mortal remains of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Govind Singh Rathod, who died fighting Naxalists in Chhatisgarh, were consigned to flames in his home town Mudkhed in the district.

CRPF 111 battalion attacked the den of the Naxalists in the Chamkar district of Chattisgarh. Govind died in the operation.

Survived by wife, two children, parents and two brothers, Govind was given the state honour by firing 45 rounds.

CRPF Officer U K Sharma, Sub divisional officer Ram Gagrani, tehsildar Vijay Raut, PI Prakash Patil attended the funeral.
