In a reprieve to BJP MP Shahnawaz Hussain, a Bihar court on Wednesday granted him regular bail in two cases charging him with violating the model code of conduct for polls in 2009.
The court of the assistant judicial magistrate of Naugachchia allowed his prayer for bail after he presented himself before it following summons in the case.
Hussain had been charged with misuse of vehicles without prior permission from authorities during campaign in Naugachchia in violation of the model code during the Lok Sabha polls. Besides, a calendar with his photo was seized from a shop at Naugachchia town following which authorities lodged another case.
The court had summoned Shahnawaz in connection with both the cases.
