Sham reviews progress of relief, restoration works

Sham Lal Sharma, minister for PHE and irrigation and flood control, on Tuesday reviewed the progress of relief and rehabilitation works in Udhampur and Reasi districts at the conference hall of Udhampur deputy commissioner's office.

Sharma was apprised of the situation arose due to incessant rain-triggered floods and landslides, especially in Udhampur and Reasi districts.

The minister assured all possible help to the flood victims from the government to overcome their difficulties and rehabilitation of the affected families.

He directed the DDC to submit a comprehensive memorandum of losses occurred due to floods/ landslides to the government as soon as possible.

The minister directed all the officers concerned to submit utilisation certificates of respective works to the district development commissioner, Udhampur, for further release of funds for the restoration of various schemes in the district. The minister directed the officers of the PHE and irrigation and flood control departments to restore all the schemes subdivision-wise within five days.

He asked the DDC to personally monitor the progress of restoration works and schemes of PHE and irrigation and flood control departments of Udhampur district.

The minister appreciated the Udhampur district administration for their timely rescue, relief and restoration works.
