Shamsher Samman presented

EMINENT POET Ibbar Rabbi and noted columnist, writer and mediaperson Sudhish Pachauri were decorated with the Shamsher Samman 2006 of the Anvarat family at a function in Bharat Bhavan on Saturday.

EMINENT POET Ibbar Rabbi and noted columnist, writer and mediaperson Sudhish Pachauri were decorated with the Shamsher Samman 2006 of the Anvarat family at a function in Bharat Bhavan on Saturday.

While Ibbar Rabbi got the Samman for his prolific poems, Sudhish Pachauri was felicitated for his acumen in writing prose. Pachauri could not personally attend the function because of health reasons. His award was presented to poet Lila Dhar Mandloi by noted storywriter Manzoor Ehtesham. The award to Rabbi was presented by noted poet Chandrakant Devtale. The Samman carries a cash component of Rs 5001 and a citation.

Eminent storywriter Padamshri Mehrunnisa Parvez presided over the function. Earlier Pratap Rao Kadam of Anvarat highlighted the salient features and mentioned that the Samman was being given for the last 13 years in memory of late poet Shamsher Bahadur Singh.
