Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Dubai, amidst reports that he may meet Benazir Bhutto with whom he recently signed a pact to work for restoring democracy in their home country.

Sharif, who was accompanied by wife Kulsoom, appreciated Pakistan Muslim League workers in the UAE for the active role they are playing in the struggle for democracy in Pakistan.

During his visit, Sharif is expected to meet political leaders and former prime minister Bhutto, who is living in exile here.

The two former Premiers last month agreed on a "Charter of Democracy" and pledged to return to Pakistan next year to take part in elections.
