Sharmila Tagore for minimal censors
Sharmila Tagore, chairperson of CBFC feels that a cinema should be in its original form and there should be imposition of only necessary censors.
"A cinema should be in its original form, as it was intended to be - this means imposing minimum and only necessary censors," said Sharmila Tagore, chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Friday.
She was in town to receive the lifetime achievement award at sixth Pune International Film Festival (PIFF).
Indicating that she ensures free choice to her children, Tagore told presspersons that she never imposes herself on children Saif and Soha Ali Khan. "I allow them to learn the hard way, to achieve their own mark of success".
However, there is one 'mix' that she seems to prefer - cinema and cricket. Tagore revealed that she enjoys watching cricket along with her husband, though the former cricket captain of Team India, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, doesn't share her enthusiasm for cinema.
"He has never been fond of movies but both of us enjoy watching cricket together," said Tagore.
The actress will soon be seen judging a reality show on television Image India. She is also to act in Tasveer, a film being directed by Nagesh Kuknoor of Iqbal fame.
