CHIEF MINISTER, Mulayam Singh Yadav dedicated to the people the UPSRTC’s air-conditioned Shatabdi bus service by flagging off an Etawah-Aligarh-Delhi bus amidst much fanfare, here on Monday.
He expressed concern over growing number of road accidents and asked the officials to install speed control mechanisms in the newly launched luxury buses to avoid accidents.
He advised the bus conductors and drivers to pay attention to cleanliness of the buses. The UPSRTC has plans of plying 260 Shatabdi buses on different routes.
The CM flagged off the Etawah-Aligarh-Delhi bus soon after dedicating to the people seven all-comfort Shatabdi buses which also included sleeper coaches.
Speaking on the occasion, he claimed that Shatabdi bus services would provide the passengers with the comforts of air journey. Besides, the buses will give the facilities of train journey.
Yadav said the UPSRTC’s performance greatly contributed to the development of Uttar Pradesh into Uttam Pradesh. He said that nobody could think that the corporation would earn profits. He lauded his Cabinet colleague and transport minister Naresh Agarwal for transforming UPSRTC’s image and urged all other ministers to emulate Agrawal.
Speaking on the occasion, Agarawal said that the Corporation was celebrating this year as ‘Jan Suvidha Year with an aim of providing the passengers with more facilities. He said that he had requested the Union Government to set up Trauma Centres on highways at a gap of 50 km. But the Centre, he said, did not give the financial assistance.
Among those present on the occasion were, MP, Bhagwati Singh, UPSRTC Chairman, Shambhunath, Principal Secretary (Transport), Rajendra Bhaunwal, Appointment Secretary, Umesh Sinha, Transport Commissioner, and RP Shukla.
