Shatrughan lashes out at Central govt

india Updated: Oct 28, 2006 00:04 IST

HITTING HARD at the Union government for its inept handling of terrorism, cine star turned politician and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha said here that Manmohan Singh was  the best and at the same time the weakest prime minister.  “He is a puppet in the hands of the alliance as well as senior leaders of Congress party’, he added .

Addressing a public meeting at MP Inter College ground in favour of BJP candidate for mayoral post Anju Chaudhary, Sinha said Congress led Union government was passing through 'four-C' phenomenon -- contradiction, confrontation, corruption and lack of consent. Without naming anyone, he lambasted forces opposing the death penalty to the main accused in Parliament attack case.

Sinha said Union government and senior officials were issuing contradictory statements regarding the bomb blast in Mumbai. On one hand, the prime minister said that a neighbouring country was involved in this case, on the other, senior officials and home secretary issued a contradictory statement which created confusion and raised doubts over the policies of the government in dealing with terrorism.
