Model-turned-actor Shayan Munshi was on Monday questioned by the Special Investigation Team of the Delhi Police probing the destruction of evidence in the Jessica Lall murder case.

Munshi, who was caught at the Kolkata Airport on Saturday while trying to leave the country, arrived in Delhi late on Sunday night after the Delhi Police directed him to join the investigation.

The SIT sleuths have sought an explanation from Munshi for leaving the country despite having a lookout circular issued against him.

Before appearing for questioning, Munshi said that neither was he aware of any lookout circular issued against him nor he was informed by the Delhi Police about the same.

Model Jessica Lall was shot dead at the Tamarind Court, a restaurant owned by socialite Bina Ramani, in South Delhi on the night of April 29, 1999.

Munshi was one of the persons who had seen key accused Manu Sharma shoot Jessica but had turned hostile in court during the trial.

A trial court had acquitted two key accused Manu Sharma -- the son of a Haryana minister - and former Rajya Sabha MP DP Yadav's son Vikas Yadav as well as seven others of all charges in the murder case.
