Rakhi Sawant

, who is contesting the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from the Mumbai North-West constituency as an independent candidate, is not too happy these days.

Recently, a reporter asked BJP leader Uma Bharti, who is a candidate from Jhansi, to comment about Priyanka Gandhi’s latest attack on prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

To this, Bharti replied, "Rakhi Sawant, too, speaks a lot, but it does not mean anything."

In her trademark style, the item girl-turned-politician reacts sharply to the comments.

What is your take on Bharti’s statement?
Actually, Bharti herself is a loudmouth. Should Rakhi Sawant take her permission to talk now? Should I ask her what I should do or not do?

Why do you think she mentioned your name and compared you to Priyanka?
I am more popular than many politicians, and even superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. She wanted easy publicity and wanted to make headlines.

If you win, will you offer BJP your support?
I don’t know which party I will support. But I will say that there is a huge difference between Umaji and Modiji (Narendra Modi).

Do you think such a war of words might go against you?
People in the country are not that foolish. They don’t form their opinion on the basis of such comments. They are very smart and know that Rakhi does not support any party and is here only for the people’s welfare.

If you win, will your Bollywood career take a backseat?
I will have no time to work in Bollywood should I happen to win (from my constituency). My focus will be on working for people’s betterment and most of my time will be utilised in making plans for the government.
