Hindi film actor and rape accused Shiney Ahuja (36) arrived in Noida on Sunday after being released from Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail.
Ahuja was let out on bail after spending 110 days in prison. He has been charged with raping his house help while le they were alone at his Mumbai residence.
The actor will now live at his father's house in Arun Vihar in Noida's Sector 29, after a Bombay High Court order granted him bail. The order has directed Ahuja to stay out of Mumbai till the case is taken up in a fast track court. He has also been restricted from travelling out of the country.
Ahuja's wife, Anupam, and his parents received him at the Delhi domestic airport on Sunday morning. The gaunt actor, clad in a gray T-shirt, was frisked away in a Honda Civic car by his family soon after he arrived on a Kingfisher flight.
Mediapersons and television camera crew thronged the Noida neighbourhood to get Ahuja's reaction. The couple, however, entered the Arun Vihar flat silently without responding to media queries.
A minor scuffle between Ahuja's bodyguards and waiting mediapersons was also reported when the latter tried to get close to the actor.
Neighbours and acquaintances described Ahuja as a mild mannered person.
“The Shiney I know was a very disciplined and well-mannered human being," said HC Sharma Arun Vihar Residents' Welfare Association, Ward Director.
