Shirts that speak your mind
The colour of your shirt says more about you than you would care to imagine. Blue is loyal, black means sex. Kabeer Sharma tells more.
Believe it or not — your shirt talks, and we’re not talking about the top three buttons of your shirt that are unbut toned, or the time you got out of the loo at a coffee shop and forgot to zip up.
Nevertheless, there’s a lot that the dye of your threads say about you — except those of course who let their designers take all their decisions.
Anyway, here’s a little bit of help, just so you don’t send out the wrong message… And, since men for most part couldn’t care less about the colour that they are wearing (hell, a man’s guide for women says all men see in only 16 colours, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a colour. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is) but since girls hang on to every word that you do or don’t say, we suggest you pin this guide on your wardrobe let the colours do the talking.
Black Yours truly and a follicular-ly challenged homie wears black shirts out to parties and clubbing — owing to lack of imagination and of course to wear the designer’s shirt to his show. There’s other reasons too, you know — black is so much easier to wear, it looks cool with all those light blue denims, but little did we know that we were also wearing our best shag shirts (unintentionally of course!).
Black represents elegance, power, mystery and most importantly seduction.
That said, don’t wear black all the time, we know we think about sex every three seconds, but is it really that necessary to say it in so many terms?
As a colleague rather delicately puts it, all her thongs are black. So, if a girl is wearing black underpants dear sire, there’s a field of thought says she will not particularly mind indulging in a little in the ‘horizontal happy happy’ squeezed between dinner, the ride home and a cup of coffee!
White Ever wondered why all our filmstars (Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan etc) migrate to white in droves every time they make an appearance in court?
Well, white besides pointing towards a higher social standing - stands for cleanliness and virtue. What did you think? They were colour-coordinating their clothes with their lawyers?
For the gals, white is more often then not, meant to convey simplicity, a no nonsense, demure yet at the same time virginal “touchme-not” attitude besides of course being a little cold.
Red Colour of passion, colour of red roses and of course the colour you’re about to get a gaudy overdose of this Valentine's Day .
Well, the one thing that a red shirt does denote (except a couple of ‘em that have rather distinctive AC/DC qualities) is sexual energy , excitement and strength.
That said, most people still agree that red is a colour that you should wear only once in a while – once again we don’t need to emanate sexual energy all the time – for god’s sake people that’s what is called quality control.
Same for girls – while most girls have an inbuilt clicker in their brains that turns the counter every time a guy checks her out, remember it’s important to weed (no, not smoking up, just to remove the unwanted impurities, read creeps without Mercs here).
Blue Analyse deeply and you’ll figure out that blue , denotes a loyal, knowledgeable, serious, responsible and intellectual persona. Think like a guy and blue looks good with everything and of course, blue to guys is by and large what pink is to the double-X chromosomed – a guy colour.
That all said, what should ultimately matter is how that shirt matches her carpet in the morning, when you’re making her breakfast!
