SHO suspended in RDX arms haul in Barmer

A Station House Officer was suspended for dereliction on duty, while one person was arrested in the RDX and arms haul reported in Barmer on September 13, police said on Monday.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Barmer PM Sharma said Station House Officer of Kalayanpura police station was suspended for dereliction on duty, while one accused Khaniya was arrested on Sunday.

SHO Niranjan Charan was given the task during the RDX- arms haul operation, but showed his negligence leading to dereliction of duty, Sharma told PTI on Monday.

The Additional SP clarified that the SHO was not involved in any way with seizure or three accused arrested on September 13, and he had just carelessly handled the task assigned to him on the operation day.

Rajasthan police had recovered a huge cache of illegal arms and ammunition near Indo-Pak border in Barmer on September 13 after a massive operation, which began on September 7.

The arms and ammunition according to police were supplied from Pakistan in the last week of August.

The main accused, who got the delivery of arms Sodha Khan alias Lunia alias Sobdar and two other locals were arrested on September 13.
