Shop gutted in Aishbagh area

FIRE BROKE up at several places in the State capital on Sunday. In the first incident, a shop was gutted in Aishbagh area in the afternoon.

FIRE BROKE up at several places in the State capital on Sunday. In the first incident, a shop was gutted in Aishbagh area in the afternoon.

The complainant, Abid Mohammad, 38, has a shop of refrigerator repairing in Bagh Farhat Afza. He also sold tyres from the shop. The shop was shut on Sunday, but fire started apparently due to short-circuit and in no time the goods were charred.  The fire tenders rushed to the spot to control the fire.

Around 80 tyres and as many rubber tubes were burnt in the blaze. The loss is estimated at around Rs 2 lakh. Officials were trying to ascertain the exact cause of fire.

In another incident, fire started in a field in Bilkhiria. The crop was damaged in the field of Pramod Kumar. Besides fire was reported from Nabi Bagh where a shanty was burnt. 

Fire was also reported in the shops in front of the Hanumanganj police station late Sunday night. The fire began from a shop and spread to some other shops. The fire tenders were rushed to control the fire but estimate of the losses could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
