Shopkeeper beats customer to death

A shopkeeper assaulted his customer and threw a brickbat on the latter's head resulting in his death following a quarrel over old dues at Baratsarai village in Bihar's Nawada district on Saturday, police said.

A villager, Kapildeo Singh, went to the shot owned by Ashok Singh this morning where the two picked up a quarrel, the police said.

Ashok allegedly beat up Kapildeo and hurled a brickbat on his head when the latter tried to flee, the police said.

Kapildeo suffered critical head injuries and died on way to hospital.

Raids were on to apprehend Ashok who escaped from the village, the police said.
