THE ASHTA Police have arrested five members of a gang and recovered from them vehicles including cars, tractor-trolleys, jeep and a number of two-wheelers.

THE ASHTA Police have arrested five members of a gang and recovered from them vehicles including cars, tractor-trolleys, jeep and a number of two-wheelers. None of the vehicles bore registration number plate. According to TI, Ashta, Umesh Tiwari, the gang had been active in Nagda, Ujjain and Tarana for the last two months and stole two Maruti vans, two tractor-trolleys, one Commander jeep and three two-wheelers. Some persons living in and around Ashta are also involved in the crime. HTC

Two unnatural deaths in Neemuch district

TWO UNNATURAL deaths were reported in Neemuch district during the last 24 hours. According to police, Shamin (38), wife of Dilawar Khan, died when the motorbike they were riding collided with a Maruti car near Neemuch. In another incident, a married woman, Urmila Bai of Bhatkheri village, committed suicide by consuming poison. Police registered both the cases and further investigations are on. HTC

Four die in mishap

THREE YOUTHS including a driver were killed on the spot as the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck in Ashta on Indore-Bhopal Road in the wee hours on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Hartik Kothari, 18, of Mhow, Nishant, 18, of Indore and driver Rajendra Kumar, 30.

They were going to Bhopal to take examination there along with Gaurav Agrawal of Indore, who sustained minor injuries. In a separate incident, newly married Bibna Bi, 20, died of head injuries after she fell down from a tractor- trolley near Chandbud village under Sehore Block on Saturday. HTC

Minor raped 

Two youths in Barod village raped a minor girl and escaped. According to police, Surendra Singh and Dinesh forcibly took a minor girl, 15, of the village in a house and raped her. They threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to anyone. On complaint of victim, the police registered a case against the culprits under the Section 376 of IPC and search is on for them. Agencies
