A person allegedly fired shots in the air near the convoy of ruling SAD's acting chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Moga-Kotkapura road in Punjab on Monday evening, police said today.
Police arrested Narinder Singh, an NRI, and his two accomplices Jaspal Singh and Jaswinder Singh who were remanded to judicial custody till January 29 by a local court on Tuesday.
Police said the three men were asked to park their vehicle in the field some 50 yards away from the Moga-Kotkapura road by the duty police on VIP route.
When Badal's vehicles crossed the area at around 4.30 PM on Monday, Narinder, who hails from Malke village, fired shots in the air, police said.
The police personnel nabbed the three men and recovered a pistol and cartridges of different bores from them.
