Highlight Story

Arpan Joshi from United States of America says
Australians always play their cricket the way they did in Sydney. I think India should change their perspective and learn what is "hard and fair" cricket..Just as Australia do!

Amit Nagpaul from Anantpur ( amitlaar@yahoo.com ) says
Immediately sack him.

Nitish Kanabar from United States of America says
Yes he is a cheater.

Gurnam Sidhu from United States of America says
Ricky Ponting has no sportsmanship and has an ego problem. He always want to win by fair or unfair means and wants to keep the umpires under his thumb. Such a person does not deserve to even have a place in the team. He hates it other teams perform well. If he stays in the Australian team not only as a captain, but also as a player,he will ruin the Australian cricket.

Rajesh Marath from UAE ( rmarath@hotmail.com ) says
Discrimination starts from him and hence he should be sacked.

Sakthivelu Balakrishnan from United States of America ( sakthivelu_b@yahoo.com ) says
Ponting as a player and captain has brought lot of disrespect to the game of cricket. This is not the first time that the team headed by Ponting is making controversies. But he has been able to get away with it all the time, which is not good for the cricket as a whole. Wait a minute, do you want sack Ponting alone? What about suspending Australian cricket team itself for sometime???

Subal Dey from Tirupati ( subal@deyindia.com ) says
Ponting should be sacked to maintain Australia's prestige and dignity.

Puneet Garg from Gurgaon ( puneet_garg15@yahoo.com ) says
No doubt that he should be sacked as he is the person responsible for all the controversies. He is not playing with the true sportsman spirit. He is too involved in winning the game and to make another record and in the process he is forgetting the game. His behaviour on the field is not acceptable at all and he should be punished by sacking and never be allowed to play again.

Anil Chaubey from Delhi (

chaubeyanil@yahoo.co.uk

)

says

Ponting should be sacked as he has made this a common practice starting from Sharad Pawar where he misbehaved with an elder person.I don't have any respect left for the Australia team. Earlier I used to consider it as a great team but now I have realised that the team lacks sportsmanship.

Rajinder Sharma from United Kingdom (

rsharma@maxmsp.com

)

says

Australians are not true sportsmen. They lack sportsmanship and are not fit to play any sport.

Maninder Sethi from Jalandhar (

maninder@prince.net

)

says

Yes, Ponting should be sacked as he is a very proud person.

Uday Vissa from United Kingdom (

uvissa@gmail.com

)

says

Absolutely. Him and the entire Australian team have shown a complete disregard to sportsmanship and the spirit of the game. This portrays the reflection of the Australians in general and their cricket team in particular. If the CA has any sense of decency, they should get a more level- headed person to be the skipper and maintain the dignity of the cricket games played in Australia.

Abhimanyu Kushal from the United States of America ( kaushalabhimanyu@gmail.com ) says
Yes he should be sacked as he is not a sportsman in a true sense.

Varun Luthra from Delhi ( varun_zenith@yahoo.com ) says
Ponting should be sacked from the captaincy as he tarnished not only the image of Australian team but also spoiled the image of cricket as a whole. Also he should be banned for atleast one Test and 2 onedayers.

Ramesh Kumar from Anantpur says
Yes, he should be sacked.

Rajiv Chauhan From Delhi (rajiv.chauhan@hp.com) says
Yes, he is not an honest person and no dishonest player should be allowed to lead any national side.

Radhamohan Nair From Bangladesh (rmtnair@gmail.com) says
Ponting should be sacked for his misconduct on the field. He is a shame for Australia.

Tuhin Chaudhury From Mumbai (tuhin63in@rediffmail.com) says
Yes, he should be sacked and stopped from playing any further. Even after his severe criticism in the last few days, he seems to be unrepentant, to the extent of even being rude to a few Indian journalists who questioned his integrity. If he thinks that he and his band (Clarke, Gilchrist, Symonds and Hayden) can get away with anything, he is mistaken. He needs to be taught a lesson for the good of world cricket.

A.Paramanathan R.arumugam From Ludhiana says
Ponting should be sacked along with Symonds and Hayden for their false allegation against Bhajji who has been banned for few Tests. This will help in correcting the malady in Australian team.

Sandip Kalia From Bangalore (kaliasan@yahoo.com) says
Putter has not lead the world class team of Australia in the right manner. It seems his only motive is victory & he does not have the heart to bear loss. If he wants to survive, he should know the values of cricket/ sport spirit. He should learn to be a sportsman or he will be shunted out very soon.

Mahesh Chandra From Bhubaneswar (c.mahesh@partner.samsung.com) says
He should be sacked immediately.

Pattanchery Rajagopal From Agra (raja1258@yahoo.com) says
Yes, Ponting should be sacked. And the Sydney Test should be cancelled and should not be counted as Australian win. Or it should be declared as a drawn test.

Atul Tandon From Delhi (atul.tandon@its.ws) says
Yes, he should be sacked from the captain's job. He has lowered the cricket's reputation as a gentleman’s game.

Partha Chakraborty From Australia (partha_1958@hotmail.com) says
Ricky Ponting should be sacked immediately along with Clarke and Symonds. Australians are no world-beaters they are world-cheaters.

Phaneendra SV From Helebid says
Peter Roebucks remark that the Aussie captain is leading a pack of dogs is truly admirable as his opinion is totally unbiased. Ponting's behavior is incorrigible.

SS GG From Pune (SS@gmail.com) says
It doesn't really matter whether Ponting is sacked or not. But for sure he has become a dark black spot for the Australian cricket. BIG BIG SHAME for Australian cricket.!!

Sanjiv Mathur From Vijayawada says
Ponting's attitude was there for everyone to see, except for rabid nationalists. But this is a decision Australia has to make. If they can live with him as their leading ambassador to the cricketing world, then that's their choice. If I had the choice, I would be embarrassed to have him lead or represent my country's cricket team.

Grant Childs From Gurgaon says
To sack Ricky Ponting is the most absurd over reaction I've heard in over 30 years of following sport. Yes, Indian players had to face a lot of injustice in the Sydney Test, but one thing you can never question is the integrity and sportsmanship of Ricky Ponting. He has and will always live and die by the code of a fair go and you'd better have all your own values up to scratch to cast that stone!!!

Mohit Choudhury

From Delhi (

mohit_chy@yahoo.com

) says

To save the game of cricket, Ponting should be removed. I remember Pakistan's Rashid Latif was banned for appealing on a dropped catch taken by him, of Bangladesh's Alok Kapali. What about clark, he should be banned for polluting cricket.

Raja Rajan From Delhi (rrc54@hotmail.com) says
Yes, he should be sacked or banned for at least 5 Tests.

Pradip Mazumder From Bangalore (mazumder@rediffmail.com) says
If ICC does not find Harbhajan Singh guilty of making racist remark, then Ponting (along with Hayden, Symonds and Clarke) should not only be sacked but also jailed for hatching a conspiracy to murder a player’s career. It should be a lesson for the arrogant Aussies.

Anoop Pandey From Chennai (panoop01@hotmail.com) says
Yes! Ricky Ponting must be sacked as he initiated a wrong practice in Cricket. This is not a good sign.

Sandeep Kumar From Mumbai says
Ricky is a blot on the face of the cricketing world. To save the sanctity of the gentleman's game, it is important to punish these players.

Ashish Jain From Mumbai says
YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!He should be sacked. If not from Cricket Australia, he should not be allowed to enter IPL. No contracts for him. No endorsements for him. He is a smart hidden racist and hates Indians. He is laughing behind all this and is enjoying with his friends how he has made an ass of all of us (Indians)... If I see him here I will feel we have become slaves again.... It will truly be shameful for us.

Dhruba Bora From Nagaon (dhrubajyoti_bora@yahoo.com) says
He shoud be sacked...........

Raja Rajan From Delhi (rrc54@hotmail.com) says
Yes, he should be sacked or banned for at least 5 Tests.

Vinod Jain From Indonesia (vinod@svarexim.com) says
Ponting is arrogant, and a "cheat" He has brought absolute disgrace to the wonderful game of Cricket. He should not only be sacked as the Captain of Australia but also banned for life.

Neil K From United States of America says
After the Sydney Test, Ricky Ponting should be given the title of Tricky Ponting and asked to stay at home. We MUST boycott all products endorsed by him and his band of cheaters so that it hurts him in his pocket! He is a liar as the whole world can see how he appealed for a Dhoni catch, which was grounded. So pathetic and desperate for a win and break the record!!!!!!!!!

Deepak Tulsani From United Kingdom (tulsand@hotmail.com) says
Considering Ponting has been ICC Cricketer of the Year, 2007. He is expected to demonstrate the values of the game, which Ricky Ponting has obvously NOT. Thus he should be striped of his recognition and kept out of a few games. This will set an example for all cricketers that no one is above this Respected Game of Gentlemen – CRICKET.

Gaurav Khunger

From Australia (

gauravkhunger@hotmail.com

) says

It’s up to the Australian board whether to sack Ricky or not. Ricky Ponting definitely did a blunder and he should be answerable to Australian board, his nation and the game itself. Now, it depends upon Cricket Australia in which direction they want their cricket to go.

Rohit Sood From Dehradun (RohitSood@optonline.net) says
Absolutely, Ricky Cheat Ponting should be fired, he has no ethics and does not know whom he is messing with. His own country has asked him to be banned i think it answers all. Out with him and Vande Matram !!!!!! Chak De India !!!!!!

Yatin Patel From United States of America (yatinpatel@yahoo.com) says
Ricky pointing is lying through his teeth -- he should be sacked no matter what. Now I wonder how they won 16 consecutive matches against India. BCCI should file charges against him for misbehaving and poor handling the situation as a captain.

Karthikeyan P From Raichur (karthik.newstar@gmail.com) says
Removal of Ponting will be unfair. But his behaviour has not been in the spirit of sportsman. Against England, Aussies are playing 'ASHES'. But to India, they are trying to play 'RASHES' (racism). I think Aussies are not able to taste their own medicine (sledging).

Vijendra Sawhney From United States of America (vijay_sahani@rediffmail.com) says
I think calling the Indian players back would reflect lack of self-confidence. Instead, I like Kapil Sibal's suggestion that Bhajji should file a defamation suit, in Australia, against three 3 Australian players, who testified against him, along with the Match Referee.

Pradip Mazumder From Bangalore (mazumder@rediffmail.com) says
If ICC does not find Harbhajan Singh guilty of making racist remark, then Ponting (along with Hayden, Symonds and Clarke) should not only be sacked but also jailed for hatching a conspiracy to murder a player’s career. It should be a lesson for the arrogant Aussies.

Anoop Pandey From Chennai (panoop01@hotmail.com) says
