Shunted out of CMSD, but back in business now
DURING HER tenure as Principal Secretary Medical Health Neeta Chaudhary had shunted out Dr Arjun Kumar from the office of the director, Central Medical Store Department (CMSD). The charges against him were of corruption and irregularities in the purchase of the drug and equipment.

But on Wednesday, Dr Kumar won back his post. He has been transferred from Opake Hospital Kailley, Basti to Lucknow on the post of Director CMSD. The transfer of Kumar surprised the Health Department officials. “How was an officer facing corruption charges, again given the charge of a sensitive department when the inquiry against him is continuing?” asked a Health Department officer.
Along with Dr Kumar, the State Government also transferred two other directors.
Dr CBM Tripathi director Maternal and Child Care swapped posts with Dr Kumar.
Dr Ranvijay Singh Director CMSD was appointed director para-medicals.
Two Additional Directors Dr DC Saxena and Dr Ashok Kumar Tyagi were promoted to the post of director. Dr Saxena was appointed director District Hospital, Meerut, Dr Tyagi was transferred from Meerut to Family Welfare Directorate.
Principal Secretary Medical Health and Family Welfare Arun Kumar Mishra said the state government promoted 30 Joint Directors to the post of Additional Directors. “The promotion of the doctors was pending since long and all have been directed to join the place of posting immediately. The promotion of the doctors would give a thrust to the working of the health services in the State”, Mishra said.
