PLAYERS ARE happy to win medals at the state Olympic Games that concluded at Tatya Tope Stadium in the City on Friday. But for the three brothers — Satpal Paliya, Aditya Paliya and Abhishek Paliya, it is a family celebration.

The siblings have won gold and silver medals in the wrestling event of the meet. Hailing from Pipariya, the young guns are confident of repeating the feat in the national event also. Eldest brother Satpal, in the game for last five years, said,

“Winning medal is always a moment of happiness but it becomes more emotional when you see two other family members also shinning.” Satpal Paliya won gold in the 84 kg freestyle category.

A student of Frankfinn Institute, Satpal feels that his objective is not to confine himself with winning the medal at the state level but wants to make his country proud at the international level. He has received invitation to participate in the international meet, however, he did not disclose it.

B.Com student Aditya Paliya, who won gold in the 84 kg category Greco-Roman style, also shares the same aim. Giving credit to his father Arjun Paliya, Aditya is happy with his performance. However, he added that his intention is to maintain the same rhythm in the coming championship.

Abhishek, the youngest among the siblings, won silver in the 60 kg freestyle category. Student of Class X, Abhishek feels that he has to improve performance.
