Sikander Kher's entry scene shot for Rs 1.5 cr

india Updated: May 08, 2008 18:29 IST

Ever since Sanjay Gupta launched him in Woodstock Villa, Sikandar Kher has been in news.

Firstly, because of the fact that he is the son of actors that are powerhouse of talent themselves, Kirron and Anupam Kher and therefore a lot has been expected from him.

But unlike any other actor Sikander never used his lineage to get himself launched. The budding actor knew that there is much more than acting than performaing a scene mechanically before the camera.

In fact few people know that he was the first actor to have been offered the role which later on went on to Saif Ali Khan in Dil Chahta Hai.

And that was the reason why he decided to be an assistant director first to help him learn that aspect of acting that went beyond the surface.

Sikander's first stint as Assistant director was when he assisted Yash Chopra during the making of Dil To Pagal Hai. Sikandar then assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the making of Devdas.

After that he went on to learn acting from the National School of Drama an acting academy that had honed his father's acting skills.

Now all eyes are on Sikander's debut film Woodstock Villa. And with the promos that are doing the rounds these days, it's evident that the actor has left no stone unturned to make a mark in the film industry.

What's more, even Sanjay Gupta is making sure that Woodstock Villa proves to be a big launch for the actor. Sources from the production unit of the film inform that the introductory scene of the actor in the film has been shot for a whopping budget of Rs. 1.5 crores. This surely makes the film a must-watch for all!
