An Indian national detained by the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority died after a fight with a fellow detainee, police said Wednesday.
Abdul Latif Abu Baker, 43, was found unconscious Tuesday. He was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There were no visible injuries on his body, police said.
A 37-year-old foreign national was arrested in connection with Baker's death. He was expected to be charged with murder, officials said, which is punishable by death.
